Spring has Sprung!

Today is the spring equinox here in the UK, also known as Ostara in pagan & Wiccan circles.
Not only is it the day where day and night are equal, it signifies a turning point in the year - it's a time for optimism, growth (literally and metaphorically!), renewal, balance, change, and abundance.
The increased light levels certainly bring a new energy to me, and enable me to get more done around the house and garden in the evenings when I finish work.
In the garden there are signs of life. Daffodils and tulips are flowering, trees have leaf buds emerging, the perrenial flowers are showing their leaf growth. Hedgerows are bursting in to life, the birds are singing when I get out of bed now, and it will soon be time for baa-lamb spotting as we drive around the country lanes.
Thoughts turn to seed sowing, and I have a greenhouse this year so am able to start things off in there. This is all quite exciting, but I've tried not to get too carried away and sow things too early. More knowledgeable people than I say to wait a little bit, usually until after the equinox, somewhere around the beginning of April to sow most annual flowers that will quickly catch up with any earlier sowings.
Sow-along, and grow-along
Do you want to grow your own flowers? Either for your wedding this summer or autumn, or just to have your own supply of flowers to make beautiful arrangements and gifts with?
Why not grow along with me, and I'll then show you what to do with them!
I already have a few perrenial shrubs and flowers in my garden as part of a regular flower bed, but I'm determined this year to finally do my cut flower patch, so if you'd like to share my trials and tribulations I'll be posting regular videos on my YouTube channel
If you are growing flowers for your upcoming wedding (congratulations btw!), you might want to pop over to my free Facebook membership group DIY Wedding Flowers where you can connect with other people just like you who want to make their own wedding flowers, and need a bit of help and support in doing so. There is helpful advice, regular challenges and make-a-long sessions to join in with, as well as Q&A calls to set your mind at ease from any worries you might have.
If you've any suggestions on what else I can do to help you with flower arranging, pop a comment below and let me know 😊
With love,
Sarah
